Like Breath of the Wild, it’s also easy to set yourself a destination and then get entirely distracted on the way by the sheer amount of stuff to explore. The Breath of the Wild inspirations are clear, and Immortals’ game world is beautiful to explore, with seven regions themed around different gods and goddesses. The humor is cheesy, the dialogue can be questionable, and the game name makes no sense (it should have stayed Gods & Monsters!) but that being said, there’s a lot to love about Immortals. Our character is the winged demigod Fenyx, who has to save the Greek gods from the titan Typhon and his army of mythological beasties.
The game isn’t perfect, sure, but that didn’t matter so much to me when it was so much fun to play. We know the company is refocusing mainly on its major IP, but still - Immortals Fenyx Rising is a great game, and it’d be a real shame not to see a sequel. Ok, so this sales pick is partly fuelled by rage that Ubisoft has reportedly cancelled an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel.
